Creative Roots
Creative Roots
As a Qi Gong teacher and holistic therapist, my work is deeply rooted in healing and balance, with creativity being an essential part of my practice and personal expression. Having worked in the creative industries since the early 1990’s, running my own design agency with my partner for 18 years, this is an area I have always wanted to weave into the work I do holistically.
Whether through writing, or other creative projects, I channel the same intuitive energy I use in therapy into storytelling, visual design, and innovative wellness tools. Creativity allows me to explore new ways of guiding clients toward self-discovery, incorporating mindfulness, movement, and artistic expression into healing. Just as I help others realign mind, body, and spirit, my creative pursuits bring me joy, inspiration, and a deeper understanding of what it means to be a human being.
I am currently working on a brand new project with poet, singer, songwriter, and musician Bobby Motherwell. January 2023 saw the release of Lots of Things, a collection of poetry, prose, and photographs compiled during and shortly after Lockdown in 2020. It is probably the best commission I have ever been graced with, what a time to be absorbing myself in a poetry book design. The poems now feature in many of my Qi Gong classes. More recently Bobby was Poet in Residence at Lochwinnoch RSPB (Royal Society for the Protection of Birds), and has commissioned a nature book, coffee book style, exploring his time at the reserve, the landscapes, surroundings, and wildlife. To be published this Spring. bobbymotherwell.com
I am also working on a few branding projects with fellow wellbeing practitioners. Helping them to shape and mould their identity, capturing their values, philosophy, and unique healing approaches through well crafted imagery and words. Effective branding helps practitioners connect with their clients or community, also helping to builds trust. In this industry we are seeing a huge shift in the people attracted to our offerings. Being “on point” in a noisy marketplace is vital.
